THE MAINE EVENT

The view of the coast line of Maine

I spent my holidays traveling from one U.S. state to another and I had the best time in Maine. It was just a day trip but it was enough time to explore the picturesque coastline and to order delicious food at the Stonewall Kitchen Company Store & Cafe.

The rocky part of the beach in Maine

Maine is known for its rocky coastline so, naturally, I wanted to experience it. I spent hours exploring the coastline. It was such a calming and beautiful place to be in–even the water is oh so clear.

For this lovely day, I wore a J.Crew turtleneck sweater, Uniqlo leggings, abstract coat (from a boutique in Hong Kong), and high knee leather boots (from a vintage store in Boston).

I attempted to get my hands on the fresh lobster Maine is known for but, sadly, the restaurants by the coastline were all closed for the season. I will surely go back just for those succulent lobsters dipped in melted butter sauce.

After spending my morning by the coastline, I went to the Stonewall Kitchen Company Store & Cafe for lunch and a bit of shopping. Stonewall is a great place to buy specialty food items (like jams, sauces, pastries, etc.) and kitchenware. It is owned by a couple who started selling their homemade jam in the Farmer’s Market and they eventually opened this store.

I ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese, Steak Panini, and Cheese Fries (Yes, it was all for me). Everything was so good! The Lobster melted in my mouth and goes perfectly with the Mac & Cheese. The steak in the panini was cooked perfectly and the bread was nice and crispy too. The Cheese fries were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside–just the way I like it.

The next time you travel to the U.S. or if you already live there, spend some time in Maine. It’s a great place to take a break from city life. Don’t leave until you eat the amazing lobster with melted butter sauce. Trust me, it’s the best!
