THE GRAY AREA

Nothing is ever just black or white. There is always something in between or something beyond it. It’s not only a choice between ‘yes’ or ‘no’, there are always other options. Don’t allow yourself to be limited by circumstance. Be creative and figure out what’s best for you. This is true for fashion and for life.

It baffles me when people feel as if they’re backed into a corner and there’s nothing else they can do. Wake up people! There’s always a way out, you just have to figure it out. Just stop looking at things conventionally and take on a new perspective.

This outfit, for example, did not start out this way. I wanted to wear something modern and Parisian inspired but the jumpsuit was flared at the bottom and it came with a tacky belt that didn’t even fit me. A normal person’s reaction would be to find something else to wear, but not me. I pinrolled the bottom of the pants and replaced the belt with a chic chain necklace. The necklace actually fit me better than the actual belt. Just because something is labeled as a necklace doesn’t mean it can only be used as a necklace. Anything can be used in a variety of ways, just make sure it matches seamlessly.

I finished off the outfit with more gold accessories, my favorite oversized eyewear, and put my hair up in a bun. For my bun, I used a bun donut from Forever 21 and followed this quick and easy tutorial.
