RAJO! for Parisian 2012

September 28, 2012

Rajo Laurel is one of the most influential people in the fashion industry, today. His designs emanate a certain feminine charm with a touch of modern allure. Personally, Rajo’s designs sparked my interest in fashion. I find his creations interestingly beautiful. So when my friend invited me to watch the RAJO! for Parisian fashion show I jumped at the opportunity.

The show commenced with a few words by Raymond Gutierrez. He introduced the collection and the designer’s influence in creating it. Japanese heritage inspired Rajo Laurel for this collection.

The fashion show was not the typical runway show wherein the models merely walk to the end of the runway and strike a pose. Artistic videos were played, a japanese inspired dance number was performed, a geisha walked the runway, and the models did a ton of acting. There were even rotating platforms on opposite sides of the stage. Everything came together exquisitely. The show was breathtaking.

When Rajo Laurel went on stage he was astonished at the immensity of the crowd. He was so grateful to the audience because he has this fear of putting on a show that no one ends up watching. That will never happen, of course. A Rajo Laurel show without an audience? Impossible.

Special thanks to Josh for accompanying me [I had a great time with you].

The event was catered by Bizu. My favorite was the sweet soft shell crab topped with alfalfa and the tiger prawn topped with parsley. Everything tasted superb.

After the show, the audience got first dibs on the pairs. I wasn’t able to buy a pair though because I had school work to attend to – damn my finals the next day!

Special thanks to Andrea for inviting me to the show. It was exactly the break I needed from the hell of school.

This is the pair I’m going to buy – isn’t it lovely?

The highlight of my night was when I asked Divine Lee for a picture and, after, she called me pretty. Divine is my girl crush so it made me so kilig! What a way to end the night.

Watch out for RAJO! for Parisian – hitting SM Department stores soon!
