As an entrepreneur I’ve always had a soft spot for my fellow entrepreneurs, and It’s not just because we made the conscious life decision to brave the unknown world of running a business. I just love meeting them, talking to them, and just experiencing the passion that drives them every single day. I especially love getting their insight on just about any topic because it’s such a different take on things. Chemworld started out by distributing specialty chemicals to both local and multinational companies in the Philippines. They then ventured into product development like Godiva Skincare, Pascual Laboratories, and Bench. Today, they provide entrepreneurs with high quality training, affordable supplies, and continuing guidance in the perfumery business. The Fragrance Factory has everything you need to start your very own perfumery business.
Fragrance Factory’s mission is to assist potential entrepreneurs realize their dream of becoming financially independent by providing them with everything they need to put up a successful perfumery business.
To carry out their mission, Chemworld put up 20 Fragrance Factory branches all over the Philippines. That’s a lot of stores that can cater to thousands of potential entrepreneurs.
At the grand opening of the Chemworld Fragrance Factory branch in BGC, I got to experience what the perfumery business is all about. I assembled my very own Starter Kit and I am so excited to venture into this unknown world of perfume making and come up with my very own signature scent.
The starter kits are customizable sets of perfume making supplies. To assemble your very own starter kit, the first step is to try out the different scents at the perfume tester station. Once you’ve decided on your top 3 scents, the lovely staff will provide you with the different fragrance oils that comprise those particular scents.
Tip: The coffee beans cleanse your senses in between different scents. At some point, everything’s going to smell the same—that’s when you go for the coffee beans.
The next step is to stock up on glassware. Honestly, I had no idea which ones I would need so I let the staff pick them out for me. I got a beaker, stirrer, and the like. I don’t even remember what most of those things are called. I actually felt like I was back in chemistry class.
Now, unto the best part. It’s time to pick out perfume bottles! I spent most of my time looking at the different designs of the bottles. There are a lot of perfume bottles to choose from which made it extra fun for me. I went a little overboard with this one. At first, I picked out so many that I had to get another shopping cart. When I got to the counter, the cashier told me I was way over the limit so I had to scale back—way way back.

The ombre effect on these bottles are so gorgeous. I, of course, went for the pink ones. I got all of the pink ones actually.

Did I forget to mention that I met Asia’s Next Top Model finalist, Jilian? That’s right, I met her at the opening and she is such a darling!
That’s it for my perfume making starter kit. I am now fully equipped with everything I need to start my perfumery business. The kit even comes with a manual so I won’t be totally lost when I try making my own perfume.
