Being the sweet tooth that I am, watching Willy Wonka really made me dream of being in a room filled with all the chocolate in the world. I know it’s such a childish dream to have but it’s still one of my dreams in life. The closest I have ever gotten to a room literally filled with tons and tons of chocolates is Jacques Torres’ chocolate shop in New York. It’s like I died and ended up in chocolate heaven. Every single corner of the store was decked out with every type of chocolate you can imagine—it was so amazing!
Every time I explore a new place, I always find myself wanting to take in as much as I can in the least amount of time. If it’s humanly possible to go from Luzon to Visayas to Mindanao in one day, I would actually do it. On my last trip to New York, I tried to squeeze in as much as I can in the few days that I was there. I went from Times Square to Brooklyn in one day. I know it doesn’t seem like a marathon but I basically went from one island to another. There are so many awesome things to see but oh so little time.
If you want to get the best meal of your life, you need access to the freshest ingredients and people who know how to cook things right. There is a big difference between dining at a Farm-to-Table type of place as compared to the typical restaurant setting. Personally, I prefer the Farm-to-Table set up but I discovered something even better. On my last trip to New York I came across one of the most interesting food concepts I’ve experienced so far—Eataly.
The one place, in this world, that I would absolutely love to live in is definitely New York. That’s right, I wanna be a part of it. New York! New York! Besides being one of the top fashion capitals in the world, this great state is overflowing with so much interesting character that is simply so inspiring. On my last trip to the U.S. I, of course, couldn’t leave without setting foot on this island.
Summer is officially here! Time to hit the sun, sand, and waves–if you’re into that sort of thing. I for one am so in love with beach trips. It’s just one of the most fun types of trips. Everything about it is just so easy and relaxing. One of the best things about this country is that there is a beach on every corner. It’s overflowing with awesome beaches just waiting to be explored. I want everyone to be able to experience beach trips at its finest so I came up with a list of tips and tricks to having the best beach day ever!
One of the best things in life is to find that one thing that you are truly madly passionate about and turn it into a lucrative career. Imagine waking up every single day to do only what you love and in whatever way you would like to do it. Not many people can successfully pull this off. It takes a certain type of mindset to actually see this through. This is the very reason entrepreneurs amaze me so much. It is just so inspiring to know that there are people out there doing everything they possibly can to share their passion with the world in the best way they know how. This is the reality of the owners of M. Flynn–a gorgeous jewellery boutique n America.
I am a loyal fan of the Food Network so anything they say about food is law. These FLOUR Sticky Buns were once featured on the Unique Sweets TV show and from the moment I saw those layers of succulent dough overflowing with sugary goodness I just knew I just had to have them. As soon as I got over my jetlag phase, I went straight to Boston’s South End for the sweetest breakfast of my life. This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip or should I say sugar-highlights?
I wanted to spruce up my holidays so I came up with my own version of the Boston Marathon. I walked through miles and miles of the lovely streets of Boston and I just couldn’t get enough. This city has so much character–it seamlessly blends together the historic feel of the past with the modern aura of the present. Whenever I travel to another country, I always visit local shops so I put together my favorite ones in this post.
I spent my holidays traveling from one U.S. state to another and I had the best time in Maine. It was just a day trip but it was enough time to explore the picturesque coastline and to order delicious food at the Stonewall Kitchen Company Store & Cafe.
My I Am Meg taping chronicles continue in Nasugbu, Batangas. This tropical perfection is the setting of two challenges in the search for the next Meg Ambassador. The trip was like a little vacation but with hair & makeup artists, a camera crew, Maxene Magalona, and, the one and only, Sophie Sumner (I know, it’s so surreal. I love her!).
